View detailed information
on a machine
Click Details.
In the Machine details (p. 306) window, examine information on the machine.
View log entries of a
machine
Click Log.
The Log (p. 324) view will display a list of the machine's log entries.
Update the license for a
machine's agent
Click Change license.
Use the Change license functionality in the following cases
the switch from a trial to a full product edition
to enable Acronis Deduplication
to enable Acronis Universal Restore.
Update all information
related to the machine
Click Synchronize.
The management server will query the machine and update the database with
the most recent information. Along with synchronizing, the refresh operation
will be performed automatically in order to update the list of the machines.
Refresh a list of machines
Click Refresh.
The management console will update the list of machines from the
management server with the most recent information. Though the list of
machines is refreshed automatically based on events, the data may not be
retrieved immediately from the management server due to some latency.
Manual refresh guarantees that the most recent data is displayed.
Adding a machine to the management server
To be able to deploy centralized backup plans from Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Management
Server to a managed machine and perform other centralized management operations, you need to
register the machine on the management server.
To add a machine
1. In the Navigation tree, select Machines with agents.
2. Click Add a machine to AMS on the toolbar.
3. In the IP/Name field, enter the machine's name or its IP address, or click Browse... and browse
the network for the machine.
Note for the Virtual edition users: When adding a VMware ESX(i) host, enter the IP of the virtual
appliance or Windows machine running Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Agent for ESX(i).
4. Specify the user name and password of a user who is a member of the Administrators group on
the machine.
Note for the Virtual edition users: When adding a VMware ESX(i) host, specify the user name and
password for your vCenter Server or ESX(i) host.
User name. When entering the name of an Active Directory user account, be sure to also
specify the domain name (DOMAIN\Username.)
Password. The password for the account.
